Violent Affair

Amidst the slowly but inevitably decaying punk scene in Oklahoma City, Violent Affair has remained a beacon of hope for a dying breed of music. With apathy and egos creeping in and plaguing the music community it serves as just more inspiration to maintain the constant persistence to create a new breed of punk for those that are desperately crying out for it. At a time when your scene and community seem at its utmost worst it can only go up! The name Violent Affair is a reference from a Self Destruct song, a particularly strong influence on the band as a whole. Our culture and our scene are endangered only through vigilance and persistence can we save it. Oklahoma city street punk! Lets take it back and make it our own.

Dissent Culture (US):

Stand Trial - "I suppose the first thing to be said about Violent Affair’s first full-length is that it is a dyed-in-the-wool street punk album. The sounds of nearly every classic band of this genre can be found somewhere within each song on this album; everyone from the Casualties to A Global Threat to The Unseen and everyone in between. Lead singer Dave sounds like a mix of Jorge from the Casualties and Jake from Career Soldiers. The twin guitar assault – here mounted by Grant and the recently departed Jesse – could have been ripped straight from the songbooks of any of the aforementioned bands, and yet, Violent Affair narrowly seems to avoid the clichés, the pitfalls, that swallow many token street punk bands. There is something unique about Violent Affair’s sound, a sound coming from a band some claim to consist solely of “rich punks,” that maybe puts more meaning behind their words than other bands of their ilk. Definitely one street punk band that I’ve come back to repeatedly over the last few months"

Stand Trial - "Violent Affair from Oklahoma City,Oklahoma they are lotza fun and they kick ass... Unrepentant Records did a great job by releasing this CD... Not only are they good they are also fine looking guys... This is their first full length CD which follows their EP "Armageddon" ... It was originally released on Razorblade Music from Germany. Tracks I enjoyed are "Sealing Your Fate", "Class War", Fight Or Die" and "Stand Trial". Violent Affair are Dave on Lead Vocals, Grant on Lead Guitar, Dominic on Rhythm Guitar and Ryan on drums.. They are currntly booking a USA tour and getting ready to record a split EP for Unrepentant Records.... Buy this CD" --Ginger Coyote
